qt 'search' is used instead of 'select'

I have :qt => 'select' in my config.default_solr_params, but when I go to /advanced, I see that solr is getting hit with qt=search. Shouldn't the advanced search be using the qt that I have defined in the Blacklight catalog_controller default_solr_params?
