Hello :)
Would anyone by kind enough to give me a basic walk trough of how one would be able to install this on a Server (Debian?) ?
I am a big fan of Raspberry Pi but considering I am planning on integrating this with the building`s control system, I do not think a Raspberry Pi is that fail safe, also would be allot easier to backup running on a server (snapshots, etc..) rather then having to constantly take out the SD card out of the Pi and take an image of it, also in the long run training etc etc space might become an issue, and constantly reading/writing from an SD card results to failed SD cards (from experience).

Thanks in advanced,

Super nice project ! :)

Matt

Hi there!

At the moment only one person ported Alice in a docker container, it is not planned to support platforms other than Raspberry, unless the demand raises. I'm not against it, but priorities make this a second hand task. BUT I have started the "delegation protocol" which will allow to have components running on other network machines, such as NLU training, ASR decoding and others, making your raspberry merely only the hub.

Re stability, well, I have Alice running since now over three years, must have rebooted about 4 times maybe? To discuss further, you're welcome to join on discord, easier and direct talking :)

You do not have to remove the sd card to clone it. I am frequently making clones and she never misses a step. I also have had over 900 days uptime with no reboot (an awesome ups & gen set) and cards that are 5+ years in service.
