Describe the bug

Using an Android Phone - A54:
Upon copying a string and using the built-in paste functionality of the keyboard only the first character is filled in, even tough the InputOtp contains 4 characters and the copied text contains 4 characters.

Screen_Recording_20240614_154053_Chrome.mp4

Environment

Android Phone - Samsung A54.

Can be reproduced on the PrimeNG demo page

Reproducer

No response

Angular version

17.3.5

PrimeNG version

17.18.1

Build / Runtime

Angular CLI App

Language

TypeScript

Node version (for AoT issues node --version)

18.20.2

Browser(s)

Android Phone - Google Chrome

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Create a selection on the phone
  2. Copy the selection
  3. Use the keyboard's built-in functionality to paste the string into the InputOtp
  4. Only the first character is filled in

Expected behavior

If I have 4 characters saved in my (keyboard's) clipboard and paste into the first input of the InputOtp component then all 4 of the characters should be filled in.

Hi,

So sorry for the delayed response! Improvements have been made to many components recently, both in terms of performance and enhancement. Therefore, this improvement may have been developed in another issue ticket without realizing it. You can check this in the documentation. If there is no improvement on this, can you open a new issue so we can include it in our roadmap?

Thanks a lot for your understanding!
Best Regards,
