AutoComplete | selectedItem template does not work if multiple="false" #14477

The code below has no effect

 <p-autoComplete [(ngModel)]="selectedCountryAdvanced" [suggestions]="filteredCountries (completeMethod)="filterCountry($event)" field="name">
                <ng-template pTemplate="selectedItem" let-option>
                    {{ option | json }}
                </ng-template>
 </p-autoComplete>
