Changes not saved in Safari

I'm using this for DateField in a DataObject in Silverstripe 4 and I can't get it to save the selected date. If I pick a date and then save it, the field reverts to the previous date when the form reloads. Or an empty field, showing the placeholder, if the dataobject didn't have a date set for the field already.

Same here :/ Have you found a solution?

I think I decided not to use this, because of this. If I understand things correctly, Safari is not a fully supported browser when it comes to the Silverstripe admin, so that might be why it's not working as intended
