Send images every n minutes or when the signal changes rapidly on slack/email/matrix.

What image do you suggest to send? Last image acquired in the plane? Also, what do you mean by the frequency cannot be controlled

you might not want an e-mail for every plane, that would overfill the inbox. Last image acquired, scaled to 0.1-0.99 percentile before converting to PNG, and in text what these quantiles are).
A more advanced version would be to trigger a notification when the 99th percentile of the signal drops below some value of the first plane acquired

I don't follow what you mean by 0.1-0.99 percentile. Is this intensity you are talking about? Why 0.1-0.99? Why not just as-it-is?

yes, the percentiles of intensity. The idea is to send a nicely scaled png (which has only 8 bits, compared to the 12 of the DAC) so you don't need to download a tiff and open it in napari.

Once I get an-e mail from the 2-photon itself (even with shot noise), and we are sure a short exp still runs correctly (even if the internet disconnects for a bit), then yes.
