FACT : OpenStreetBrowser let see a lot of features and helps to see the coverage of objects added in OpenStreetMap, it's ovever difficult to improve the quality of these object for some tags.

IDEA : let create some displaying for tags that are really usefull and may show how OSMquality is relevance.
Some first queries would be welcome such as :

  • capacity : usefull to see where restaurant, cinema, theatre, + bicyle or car parking are not filled
  • material : usefull to see how are done benches
  • colour : usefull to see what are the colors of benches and street lamp in the same area
  • wikipedia : find where some monuments, touristic places have been linked

I was thinking about this for a while, and I even started work on this. I postponed this after the current update (with the custom categories). I guess, I will publish this in two, three weeks.

You can have a look at the development branch: https://openstreetbrowser.org/#repo=default~osm-qa

The master category at the bottom "OpenStreetMap Quality Control".

Currently, there are two categories:

  • Fixme (all objects with a 'fixme' tag)
  • Culture Media/Wikidata (all cultural objects and whether they have media (image/wikimedia) or wikidata - also it checks, if the wikidata object is a human (which is almost always wrong))

It could be interesting showing fixme=* to highlight some tags name, resurvey and position

Like this? I also added a type filter (which was surprisingly much work).

In my idea, if a conributor from his PC could use "fixme=*" it would be 1st for easy editing : verify tags, maybe name, or accurate position, the other tags could then with a colour less attractive.
