Is this a feature for the backend or frontend?

What would you like?

It would be great if users could self-register using an email address from a pre-approved domain (e.g., @xyz.tld).
This should include an email verification step to ensure the validity of the address.

Why is this needed?

It takes me a significant amount of time to create accounts for all my students.
