Function changes needed for PFL:

• Masthead (s. JII Masthead #8957)
• Authors asked to identify funders using Crossref Funder Registry (s. https://github.com/ajnyga/funding)
• Authors asked to enter conflict of interest statements (s. ?)
• Authors asked to enter titles, descriptions, URLs for data sets (s. Inclusion of Data Availability Statement as submission metadata #8290)
• Editors can enter correction and retraction notices for articles that appear on PFL, as well as atop article versions. (s. Allow papers to be withdrawn without recording a rejected decision #1813 and Allow preprints to be withdrawn or removed #6271)
• Further open review option, with links on article landing page, ToC, and PFL. (s. Add support for public reviews & transparent workflow #10439)

Data feed to be listed for each article’s PFL:
For Journal:

• Journal publisher or sponsor with link. (publisher name exists, link needs to be added)
• Field designation (?)
• Average peer reviewers per “article” (over previous year) with link to previous year listing (?)
• Acceptance rate for articles over previous year (exists i.e. can be calculated)

For Article:

• Number of peer reviewers (exists)
• Conflict of interest reported, if any, with link (?)
• Funders of research, if any, reduced to initials with link (exists, what are the initials?)
• Research data availability, if any, with link (link?)
