Various interface suggestions made so far by various people. May want to break out into multiple issues later for better tracking

  • Be able to drag out ship positions so that it requires less clicking and ship ID is automatically determined by length; alternately, be able to click on squid start and squid end
  • if playing a game using the statistical method and you're always trying the suggested square, having a button or keyboard shortcut to declare hit/miss at the suggested space would speed up play
  • left / right click for hit/ miss
  • checkbox for if rupees were collected as that changes RNG tick rate
  • be able to save the ship positions to the latest super duper mode board from the prediction interface with a "save to grid" button

I would also change the "Number of hit squids" from a dropdown to radio buttons, so it's easier to click on them.

Oh! And I think Linkus mentioned having some sort of Sploosh Kaboom background for the dragging out ship positions - since it's a little hard to reference it on a blank blue grid.

So, maybe we can add A-Z 1-99 labellings on the side as well? Unsure how well that would work, though.

a cool idea would be to automatically copy the top field into the bottom grid once your done, so you dont need to manually copy it over

All of these are implemented except for "left / right click for hit / miss" -- do we want that? It's less mobile/tablet friendly, but maybe that's fine, maybe we don't care about those platforms?

Suggestions:
Quick kill button to sink all ships
New undo button other than control Z
Change visibility for certain things (to confuse people less):

  • if timer mode is selected, only timer mode values shown OR "more settings" to display room enter offset and timed stddev
  • show space to start timer, S to save first board
Better defaults for room enter offset and timed stddev
Up and Down arrows to easily increment first board mean
automatically display matched indices within 5 stddev
Bigger text in general for everything
Make the hits, misses, and squids look exactly identical to in game sploosh
