[Feature Request] --sp --show-progress - but for logs / pipes

Hi All

we use this as a util behind the scenes - wrapping it in some places, and it writes to log files in other places.

the progress bar is not useful in logs or pipes - but its the closest thing we have to 'metics of progress or transfer'

any chance of making the same thing more compliant with pipes or logs (like line returns - not window buffers)?

maybe we can overload it with --lp --log-progress running almost identical code - but just with a different config (more log style, less human watching style)
