Here's a suggestion: there doesn't seem to be ANY savefile editors for the Layton games out there (unless, as usual, I was just too dumb to look properly). Flora could take that role, by transforming the binary save format into a human-readable JSON representation (this one really is just data).
I've added initial support for this, but there are still knowledge gaps to be closed in terms of my understanding of the format. Of course it's also possible that this is such a separate use case that it's better found in a separate tool (maybe even a pretty webapp or sth) but for now I just wanted to keep my notes somewhere.
