Hello,

as the free support for TinyMCE 6 ends on October 31, 2024, when are you planning to upgrade the add-on to work with TinyMCE 7?

Greetings,
Gregor

Never 🤬 tinymce/tinymce#9453

Luckily, at least currently, I'm very satisfied with the feature set of TinyMCE 6 and I don't expect huge breaking changes from browser side either.

Upgrade for version 7 is probably quite easy, so Vaadin's engineers can do that for you if needed (for a 💰). But unless your project is GPL, there is also a big chance you'd need a license to use it.

Let's see how this project (or some other fork) continues and maybe move over to use that: https://github.com/hugemce/hugemce

We know about the license change and decided to buy licenses, because we need to assure that we got security updates for our products.
The hugemce fork is a nice approach, but it seems that it will take a while until it is stable.
With the commercial license we got security updates until June 2025 for version 6. We will keep track of what is happening around TinyMCE

Certainly a good approach 👍 And as mentioned, I'd expect it to be rather small task to move to version 7 when really needed, but it requires a licence change (and forking this add-on for those who need a free solution). At least for couple of my sport clubs systems that use this add-on (and that I maintain pro-bono), starting to pay for the license is out of question.
