In the release 0.38.5 bstc and bstl are compiler as universal binary for ppc and x86, so they don't start on macOS Catalina since it only supports 64-bit programs.

As far as I understand the original source code of that software was lost. So there is pretty much no way to do anything about this.

Maybe some genius could decompile it and somehow make sense of it, but I'm fairly certain it's not worth the effort.
