Comments
Nice! I'm in the PWL Nairobi team, please do reach out if you need any help. Also we can work on collaborations. All the best with the launch! |
Thank you @profnandaa! And I'll definitely need your help re: collaboration! Looking forward to getting approved! |
@vunderkind taking a look - should have this completed this week |
Thanks, Darren! |
@vunderkind you've been invited to join the GH organization, please check your email. Once you've accepted you can get access to https://github.com/papers-we-love/lagos Please update the README with the correct information. |
Where
I'm keen to open a Papers We Love chapter in Lagos state, Nigeria (potentially beginning remotely — if that's within reason for the community). I checked the existing issues (both open and closed) and didn't find one for Lagos, Nigeria — but I'm happy to be pointed to one if it exists!
Who
Justin Irabor (lives and works in Lagos state and Germany)
LinkedIn
GitHub
When
Once a month, in-person (Yaba and/or Lekki in Lagos) and virtually (Twitter space and on Zoom). Proposed first event will be in February 2024 (roughly a month from sending hin this PR)
Background
I am a software engineer with four years' experience, and I began my career in web development though I work in AI for the International University of Applied Sciences in Berlin. I'm also undergoing an MSc program in Computer Science in Berlin as well. I'm looking to connect with a local community of my peers who are interested in reading and discussing pivotal (and interesting) computer science papers.
Code of Conduct
I have read and agree with the code of conduct.
