Singularity inherits the host $HOME by default. This is specially problematic in some cases. For example, for R containers, it looks for R packages in the user's $HOME directory overwriting and generating conflicts with the containers R packages.
This can be solved by adding --no-home as parameter of singularity exec. This could be added as an option for register_singularity
