- 1 1/2 Pounds flank steak
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup carrots, shredded
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1/4 cup cooking sherry
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp maple syrup or honey
- 1 tsp dried ginger
- 1 tsp red chili pepper flakes
- 1/2 T. peanut butter
- 3 T. brown sugar
- 2 cups of frozen chopped broccoli
- Salt, pepper
- Cut flank steak evenly into 5 pieces
- Place steak in slow cooker
- Mix all other ingredients except broccoli and pour over steak
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours
- The last hour of cooking, stir in chopped broccoli
- Cover and cook one hour longer or until broccoli is tender
- Slice into bite-sized pieces and serve with white rice
Used fresh broccoli, microwaved. Didn't have sesame oil. I think the steak was a slightly differnt kind because the store was out of flank steak. Overall thought it was pretty good. Could probably use white pepper since it's an Asian-themed dish. Skipped the sugar. Used minced garlic from jar.
