Quick update...

Hello everyone, it's been a week since my last post. I just wanted to report to you real quick the project status. I promised I would have pushed a big update by the end of the week (on the rewrite branch ofc), commits are ready, I just need to review a bunch of things, so you can expect it to be out tomorrow. Furthermore, I'll also make a new release on Maven, and about that I wanted to inform you all that this will be the last JDK11 release for the rewrite branch, so the release will still follow 11.x.x versioning. The next one will follow 21.x.x versioning instead, and you could expect it by the end of the next week, I assume there will be a decent amount of work to do for the transition.

I know not everyone will be happy about it, but I'm sorry to say this: I don't really care. Mainly for two reasons:

1. I have always hated the way Java handles versioning/releases/updates. This LTS bullshit is one of the things I hate the most in the programming world. Retro-compatibility my butt, all it does is promote laziness both from simple devs and companies, and the result is this abomination:
   
   
   This is 2022, this year's data is still not available, but I believe it didn't change that much, and honestly whoever is still using JDK 8, shame on you. Sorry, I had to get it off my chest.

2. My projects are open source. As long as you release modified sources, and comply to the LGPL license, you can do whatever you want. Which means, if you want to back port features, you can. And I believe it won't even be that difficult. So if you really care/need that old version of Java, you are using, you will have to support it

I'm starting to prepare for JDK21, but I'm waiting for the next stable releases of Gradle and IntelliJ
In the meanwhile I just pushed another update!
