is_file returns True, but when I call open() I get a 400 error. If I copy-paste the url from the exception to my browser it works. any ideas?

I managed to create this workaround which uses ServerUrl instead:

class MySharePointListRow(sharepoint.lists.SharePointListRow):
    def open(self):
        url = self.opener.relative(sharepoint.lists.quote(self.ServerUrl.encode('utf-8')))
        request = sharepoint.lists.Request(url)
        request.add_header('Translate', 'f')
        return self.opener.open(request)
