I can see that it connects to the capability server for retrieving the specs, ...

Terminal 1:

$ rqt_capabilities

Terminal 2 with capability server running:

[INFO] [WallTime: 1399124424.487251] Servicing request for capability specs...

... but it never starts.

I'd like to add that I have a relatively large number of capabilities (13) set up.

I cannot reproduce this, can you try again or provide me with a way to reproduce it?
