Facebook-API's specification changes, And the default can get only "id","name".
So, you need to specify explicitly query string the necessary item.

Can't get a email.
self::$user_profile = self::$facebook->api( '/me' );
Can get a email
self::$user_profile = self::$facebook->api( '/me?fields=email' );
