Very often when you view a PDF you also want to know the page size. This is super helpful when a PDF file has different page sizes (eg, brochures, large format prints) and you need to figure out what kind of document you're viewing for printing / scaling.
When the ruler is activated it would show both the horizontal (x-axis) and vertical (y-axis).
It can be listed under Menu > View > Show/Hide Ruler
