Please post here for ideas, technical support and related conversations. Please also be aware that we also have a discussion group on Facebook that overlaps with this, plus a number of other Facebook groups you may be interested in.
These GitHub Discussions are monitored by Jamulus team members.
The Main Rule: Discussions should be aiming at a resolution
This means they should be about how best to approach a new feature, clarify a problem or a bug, or help specify a solution to be built or rejected. This is so that discussions can give rise to a GitHub Issue or a PR if necessary.
Because of this, there are only four things we’d ask when posting:
Be responsive: Posting is a commitment to communication and cooperation. If somebody asks you a question, or makes a counterpoint to yours, please respond. Do not ignore them. Close loops, summarise progress, observe the Main Rule.
Be helpful: Supply background information, links to related discussions, or point people towards information that helps them get to a resolution (for example, GitHub discussions let you link to points in the thread). Think of the Main Rule.
Reduce noise: If a discussion is long, please do not post “me too” messages (you can use GitHub’s reactions for that), and try not to fragment or fork the thread (do not be afraid to start a new discussion for that). Above all, observe the Main Rule.
And of course, be respectful. We may remove abusive posts, and ban those who cause offence.
