Will be also useful for whenever the examples will not be mixed with user-defined content (still working on this) to allow cloning contents and customizing. |

Some results: As you can see "When a widget has no title (empty or just a space), the entire box is not shown." works only when a space is put in the "name" field. Just leaving it empty leads to "undefined". For "input" the range is working correctly. Also float with two figures after comma is OK. Icons and colours picked from pull-down menu. The search function in the icons pull-down is working excellent. Also the little bit of explanation on top of the different pages with the link to the corresponding place in the documentation is very helpful. I suppose you will adapt the text about the menu in the documentation. |

Good finding, I will fix it. And thanks for the other feedbacks!
Yes, once finalized I will update the documentation accordingly
Makes sense! |

Would it be possible to do the same with the "Control an on/off switch" widget, being the "counterpart" of the status widget. |

Makes sense, reopening egeoffrey/egeoffrey-gui#60 Also, with a
(*): there were too many glitches with the login process especially when connecting to the cloud gateway due to too short timeouts with a higher response time. For the user the change is not very visible but most of the code has changed so there may be bugs even if I tried to test all the scenarios. The login screen is also providing now feedbacks while logging in so the user knows what is doing and what fails. Also added an additional check to ensure the backend is responding and fully ready.

[This post has been migrated from the old forum, it was originally sent by eporocrail on 2020-08-27 08:06:27] I have version: egeoffrey-gui v1.3-5 (development) I can not access my system via the gateway. An empty house is presented. Collapsing the GUI has as a result that the widgets just get wider. No working space is gained. |

[This post has been migrated from the old forum, it was originally sent by eporocrail on 2020-08-27 09:19:48] I have been trying several ways to login. After logging in into the local system and then from there going to the gateway is working. One thing is still somewhere around. Upon successful login the window reports an error getting access. But access is granted. This is not something new. I had it earlier. |

[This post has been migrated from the old forum, it was originally sent by eporocrail on 2020-08-27 09:26:37] When I get access to the system via the gateway, I can not move away from the webpage where I am. Navigation has no effect. |

But access is granted. This is not something new. I had it earlier." which I noticed as well. Thanks! |

Just want to be sure you did clean your browser's cache after upgrading to v1.3-9 (development) since we have already seen some weird behaviours like this one I could not reproduce. I tried editing an existing widget, changing type but worked for me. Doesn't mean is perfect but want to esclude the obvious
This hasn't changed at all so should continue to work. Unable to connect to the backend makes me think some sort of connection issue which is also impacting your new sensor from being saved. Anything in the logs? |

[This post has been migrated from the old forum, it was originally sent by eporocrail on 2020-09-07 14:35:43] I did the update again. Checked eGeoffrey status. All OK. |

[This post has been migrated from the old forum, it was originally sent by eporocrail on 2020-09-07 15:11:35] I did a reboot although eGeoffrey was up and running. Adding a widget on a page is not working. The "loading" message is there and stays there. Adding a sensor is now working. |

[This post has been migrated from the old forum, it was originally sent by eporocrail on 2020-09-07 16:22:24] To edit a widget the edit button needs to be clicked multiple times. The sensors in the pull-down menu are not sorted. One needs to scroll through the menu. The old "Icon" field and related "colour" of the Control on/off widget can be taken out. The new fields are working OK. The colour selection is OK. When a space is contained in the text of an icon of the control widget, only the first part of the text is displayed. For the status widget this is not the case. |

Actually it just takes a while for the wizard to show up if click once. I couldn't find a way to speed this up unfortunately. If still an acceptable experience from your point of view I'd keep it as it is for now. Probably in the long term this selection has to be taken away from there (leaving an input box and a sort of browse button the user can optionally use) since pretty heavy for the browser when you have 100+ sensors.
Agree, but this would be difficult to fix since I receive the sensors' configuration one by one and I'd need to redo the page at every new item to have this sorted. We need to rely on the search box.
I was planning to keep them in both for backward compatibility and also because a user could opt for the old behaviour of the widget (static color and icon) and optionally go with the new one. Just to leave two options available if this is not too much confusing
You mean a space in "Text when ON" or "Text when OFF"?
I couldn't reproduce this one. I tried adding a control widget without setting up a color and it shows up blue as expected. How did you get that orange? |

[This post has been migrated from the old forum, it was originally sent by eporocrail on 2020-09-09 14:44:17] Behavioural issues ok. Understood. Colour: "Colour when ON(default: green) is not working. Here a colour has to deselected. It looks like the colour of the normal icon is used when fields are left empty. (no statement about default colour here) I got orange just by selection. Looking at my screenshot under system or under living there are a status widget and a control on/off widget. |

[This post has been migrated from the old forum, it was originally sent by user2684 on 2020-09-09 15:52:38] Oh, I get it now thanks. Yes, the label is wrong copied and pasted from the status widget, here should not mention a default color or default icon. Defaults are color and icon set previously. If someone is willing to customize color/icon for on and/or off, can do it. I'll fix it soon. |

Looks like something related to the third party library I'm using for the switch, when the text is too long and there is a space in between, the text is cut by design. Possible workaround could be to make the text multiline: try with |

Development of an updated version of egeoffrey-gui is in progress. @eporocrail since there are many of your requests already implemented, would be nice if you can give it a try. To do so, just stop, uninstall egeoffrey-gui, run
sudo egeoffrey-cli install egeoffrey-gui:development
. There is full compatibility between the previous version and this version so you can go back at any time by uninstalling and installing without the :development tag. What have been implemented so far:
There a still a few things I need to implement to finalize this version but at least gives some time to collect feedback and test.
Thanks!
