Harmonized Device Management Features

Hello,

I am currently studying EdgeX concepts and looked at the device services. It seems that there is currently no common way to

• get a device's HW inventory data (Manufacturer, Part Number, Serial, Revision, etc...)
• get the device's current Software (Firmware) version
• Update the devices firmware

I also checked the Roadmap in EdgeX Wiki and found nothing concerning these features.
I am wondering why these features are not considered in the EdgeX design. It should be required by everyone. Am I wrong?
