Extending Ambassadors data by including nationality #529

It makes sense what you say, but I think not everyone feels very comfortable with the flag of the country they are from because of political and ideological connotations. Talking to @derberg, he commented on the idea of using flags to indicate the languages spoken by each person, so you can see the diversity of people but not by their nationality. Summarizing the language with the flag icon. I thought it was a very good idea. What do you think? |

I like the idea of showing my nationality via a flag tho... why not add it for those that want to and those that wish to obtain can do so? 🤔 |

I'm fine if others want to display their nationality or native language, but I personally wouldn't want or do that: so make it optional please. |

one more thought: there are no flags for languages, flags are always for countries. For example, the flag usually chosen to represent my native language is that of another country - and I despise that ;) |

Hey, y'all! Sorry for joining the conversation late. I agree that additional information should be available, but opt-in and never mandatory. I also agree with @GeraldLoeffler regarding I'm not the most comfortable with the flag used to represent my native language. Additionally, as with languages, people would like to add more than one flag for their country of origin. In that case, that should be a list. What do you think? |

I feel extending the AsyncAPI ambassador data by including the ambassador's nationality, would definitely make so much sense in such a way that it shows how diverse we are and also shows potential ambassadors that they can rep their nationality :)
The same might also go for the contributor's page... Just thinking out loud here.
A potential look of what it might look like can be found in this PR asyncapi/website#1123
Kindly share what you think about it.
