Vote to SPONSOR the largest OSS conference in LATAM, CCOSS.org

The CCOSS.org Conference is the largest OSS event in LATAM (Latin America), and the 2022 event promises to round up a community of about 1,500 people.

The CCOSS org generously offered us a community sponsorship tier that allows our logo to be included in the marketing website, and receive increased visibility during our participation there (I submitted already 1 CfP at CCOSS aside from this vote and am also trying to identify a 2nd Spanish speaker to team w/ me also to submit a workshop CfP at CCOSS.).

Before anyone can "accept" this offer, the community should understand that our donation back to the event would be AsyncAPI high-value swag packs. We could donate a couple of said swag back bundles (or coupons for swag store) to be gifted during a raffle at CCOSS for the OSS contributors that put together this event.

@Barbanio has proposed three proposals with common objects that swag bundles usually have:

1. Hoodie, bottle, and stickers= $80 approx.
2. Hoodie, tote bag, socks, and stickers = $60 approx.
3. T-shirt, bottle, and stickers= $55 approx.

To these prices should be added approximately $20 for shipping. Prices are approximate because we do not yet have the final prices of the products in the store. We need to choose the number of colors that each print, etc.

NOTE: If you have another swag bundle option + price limit to propose, please don't wait to see what others reply. Please go ahead and share your idea with us so that we can include all community feedback. 😀😀

Currently, CCOSS is waiting on our vote so that we can confirm to them the budget amount that the AsyncAPI Initiative sets aside per AsyncAPI swag bundle.. should the community vote the majority to YES. Please cast your vote!

I said ~5 swag packs because I don't have a specific preference. If you want a specific number, I would calculate it using the most expensive ($80) and multiplying it by 5, so $400. If you want to still have some more budget for unexpected stuff, round it to $500 :)

When we know the budget that can be allocated for this, it will be easier to choose the number of swag packs that can be donated and their items.

Maybe if products like t-shirts or hoodies are included, it would be better to give coupons because of the size issue.

Hey @Barbanio, thanks for the feedback! So my thoughts... I most need help with someone starting a proposal of the amount we should dedicate per bundle.

- Can you propose the budget amount you think we should spend per bundle? (To be honest, I am not the best community member to propose a budget per swag bundle. I haven't looked at what AsyncAPI has done before and do not have a clear idea of how much we'd be willing to spend.)

• I think a "value swag pack" should def include minimum a hoodie or shirt, multiple stickers, and at least 1 other swag item. I think "generic" AsyncAPI swag is sufficient, but I am sure that if we could have a variety of stickers by then that would def be more eye catching. Specifically I am thinking of mascot stickers with Eve for example 🤔
• Yes, you know, @derberg said the same suggestion about how perhaps we should give a store coupon code for the amount we decide vs actually shipping to them physical swag packs.

@alequetzalli, I believe, if I am not mistaken, that the steps to follow would be as follows:

1. Specify which products will be included in the swag and the design that will be printed on each product.

2. Ask for an estimated budget for the swags.

3. Get it approved by the TSC.

4. Place the order and have it shipped.

Once we resolve point 1, I could take care of the rest if it's ok for you 🙂
