Flow is responsible for implementing a majority of the authentication services present with each portal, servicing users in a number of ways by leveraging our unique access keys tangibly experienced with the help of a composite, non-fungible token. These keys work by combining several novel specifications, specifically pulling from EIP-4519 (Smart NFT), EIP-4671 (Soul-bound NFT), and EIP-5606 (Multiverse NFT) to compose a single access key distributed to users upon successful registration.
One consideration heavily affecting our decisions is that of practical cybersecurity, a trait best shown with the inclusion of self-managed FIDO-Compliant Passkeys. In doing so, we hope to finally bridge the gap for users to seamlessly migrate from traditional service providers.
Passkey's are novel mechanisms recently formalized as part of a larger effort to mitigate the need for password's. While they may have borrowed several traits native to blockchain wallet's todo so, centralized service providers have also provided a mainstream mechanism for onboarding traditional userbases. Additionally, our specific implementation of the protocol benefits from the security of others around it and encourages freedom of identity.
In order to sufficiently manage each user's digital identity, along with their included authentication services, we elegantly designed a dedicated dashboard suited with all of the features native to the rest of our platform.
As with the rest of the proposals, most of these projects are works in progress. Furthermore, as we continue to await for our initial round of investing to close we are unable to currently provided specific timelines and such as the introduction of external funding may drastically affect these measures.
