Hello @ankitgupta143 , They mentioned that only assigned issues PR are counted for the Leaderboard. If you want to work on the issue you can but it won't counts towards the leaderboard. To count your PR make sure the issue consists of gssoc24 and level label and you should have to assigned to that issue. |

If the project owner doesn't accept your issue but you still want to contribute to the project, you can work on other issues or tasks within the project. Your contributions should still count towards your participation in programs like GSSoC, even if you haven't been assigned specific issues by the project owner. Here's how your contributions may still count:
In summary, your contributions to the project should still be recognized even if you're not assigned specific issues by the project owner. As long as your contributions meet the program's criteria and guidelines, they should count towards your participation. |

At a time only 10 people can project admin can assign to an issue, so we have lot of people who request to work on the same. What you can do is you can find similar issue for enhancement and ask project admin to work on their issue. This is the only way. |

If the project owner doesn't accept your issue or pull request, it won't affect your ability to contribute to the project. You can still continue to work on the project and submit additional pull requests or contribute in other ways, such as improving documentation, fixing bugs, or implementing new features. However, if the project owner doesn't assign the issue to you or acknowledge your contribution, it may not count towards any specific leaderboard or recognition within the project or program, such as GSSOC. In such cases, it's essential to communicate with the project maintainers or mentors to ensure that your contributions are properly recognized and acknowledged, even if they're not officially accepted or assigned. You can also focus on contributing to projects where your efforts are appreciated and acknowledged, either through formal recognition programs or by the project maintainers themselves. Ultimately, the goal of contributing to open source projects is to make meaningful contributions to the community and improve the project, regardless of formal recognition. |
