Most probably I don't think this situation should occur. But if you does raise an issue and leave it there unchecked this can happen. If the issue is not closed and you still need to contribute to that issue I believe reaching out to the assigner will be the best option since the issue can be assigned to multiple people. But I guess it is dependent on the issue and the Assigner of the issue. |

Project issue assignment typically involve a selection process that goes beyond just raising the initial issue. Mentors and program administrators consider various factors, including: Detailed Proposal: Did the commenter offer a more in-depth plan for tackling the issue, demonstrating a clear understanding of the requirements and potential solutions? So, when you raise an issue then try to explain your approach as well for solving that issue, then it will be assigned you. However, in GSSoC most probably issues are assigned in first come first serve manner. |

Hey there! When it comes to issue assignment, it follows the first come, first serve rule. So don't worry issue will eventually be assigned to you only. If you want to make sure it gets assigned to you only you can intervene and make your interest known to the assigner by reaching out to them on social handle. Discuss your issue with them and ask them to assign it to you. Meanwhile, you can comment on the issue to claim it by saying: "I'd really like to work on this issue. Please assign it to me" And if in any case by mistake it gets assigned to someone else ask the assigner to reassign it to you. They will surely do the necessary step. |
