Arc and Line tools need to be refactored and/or reorganized. Per @douglas, there are other underlying issues behind this behavior. Our code and features don't have a workflow like other CAD tools. This isn't a bug, it's a result of how our code works. Per @evans, rearranging the tools into other groups would be helpful. Maybe move some Point tools into the Line group. |

Hey!
I'm just creating this discussion to discuss the fact that the intersection tools in Seamly are not behaving like every other intersection tools in other softwares, and they are not even consistant with one another.
Let's say I have an arc and a line that intersect and I want to create a point where they intersect. I would like to use the "Intersect arc and line" tool, click on the arc and then the line and voila. But this tool is in reality intersecting a line that does not exist (graphically, at least...) with an arc that does not exist to create their intersection point. It is not intersecting my arc with my line. I could use the tool even without any arc or line.
But the "intersect curve and axis", for instance, is intersecting a curve that does exist and that we need to select, with an axis that does not exist.
I get the fact that it makes the drafting process easier by not having to draw the construction lines and arcs, and that we have no other choice than to create the spline beforehand for the particular "intersect curve and axis" tool, but I just wanted to discuss the fact that those behaviors are not very straightforward for new users, and particularly for those who are used to other CAD softwares.
Cheers
