how to install ZFS 2.3 (RC) on Rocky Linux

Hello,
I'm using Rocky Linux 9.4 and I try to figure out how to install the ZFS 2.3 RC or also releases later. I followed https://openzfs.github.io/openzfs-docs/Getting%20Started/RHEL-based%20distro/index.html and did the following

dnf install https://zfsonlinux.org/epel/zfs-release-2-3$(rpm --eval "%{dist}").noarch.rpm
dnf config-manager --enable zfs-testing
dnf install -y epel-release

but I cannot see 2.3 packages

dnf list available --showduplicates zfs

@hanneskasp 2.3.0-rc1 packages have not been add to the repository. For the moment, if you want to test out 2.3 you'll need to manually build packages from either the release tarball or directly from git.

okay thanks, that worked. I feel really young now... last time I compiled kernel modules was 2007 or so :-)

dnf install --skip-broken --enablerepo=epel python3-packaging dkms

cd zfs-2.3.0-rc1
./configure
make -j1 rpm-utils rpm-dkms
yum localinstall *.$(uname -p).rpm *.noarch.rpm

# zfs version
zfs-2.3.0-rc1
zfs-kmod-2.3.0-rc1
