Googled and searched for a solution to my ZFS update to Fedora v37 issue on FedoraForum.org etc.... tried some console commands, but they have not worked yet. My issue might be similar to issue #14344 and/or #14201 on this forum, but not able (or lack the experience) to apply those fixes for reasons mentioned below.
Previously, ZFS was working very nicely on my OpenCore v065 Hackintosh (macOS Catalina) dual booted with Fedora Workstation v33 installed on it's own spinning rust hard drive, then I updated to Fedora v37-beta in Sept-2022 and after a little work, including help from this forum, got Fedora v37-beta and ZFS to R/W to my zpools which I am grateful for.
/ My Current Problem /
After the release of Fedora v37 I performed a "dnf update && dnf upgrade" as root on my v37beta Linux system. Initially things seemed to go well, until the very end of the update process, when a couple errors where generated: "ERROR - one or more modules failed ... zfs ....(yada yada)" Trying to tell me the upgrade process was not able to generate the new Linux kernel-core v6.1 offered by v37 because compiling the ZFS module had failed. Did not realized there were issues with OpenZFS signing keys that effect the Fedora v37 upgrade process, which I should have addressed before attempting my upgrade to Fedora v37.
This has left me I think with a partially upgraded Fedora v37 installation but only my old Linux v5.19.10-300 kernel is loadable. Awkward because I don't know how to properly integrate ZFS into my kernel v5.19 system to allow kernel v6.1 to compile successful and become active and available.
ZFS seems to be active and working OK running under the old Linux kernel v5.19, but I do not know how to modify ZFS(?) in this old kernel environment so that the new linux kernel v6.1 can be generated correctly and the kernel image placed into my system where it will be available for loading execution at boot. The Opencore boot loader manages initial boot then hands over control to GRUB .... I think, because I can see the various Fedora Linux kernel boot options listed, but only my old kernel v5.19 works and boots into the Linux desktop. Fedora kernel v6.1 is listed but does not load and the system just hangs until power-reset.
It's a puzzlement, for me anyway.
Any suggestions appreciated.
