I'm @orangemug, hello everyone 👋 I'm building a small open source mapping app for styling and manipulation of geo-data called Maparatus. The styling is much like Maputnik an uses the mapbox style specification as the basis for what possible. Unlike Maputnik which had openlayers as a "well it kind of works", my aim is to have openlayers as a fully operational renderer. It has a few bugs but basically works, and supports projections. OpenLayers with Things I'd like to discuss (and maybe contribute)
Thanks everyone for all the hard work on the library, especially @ahocevar |

Thanks for introducing yourself, @orangemug! What you're working on sounds great.
I'm envisioning a standalone style spec package independent from Mapbox and MapLibre, where we can optimize things for build size on the one hand and auto-generated spec documentation with profiles and extensions on the other hand.
Instead of going down a path like WMTS or OGC API Tiles did, I'd llike to keep things as simple as the original TileJSON spec. This is what's already implemented in ol-mapbox-style. It means: validity extent of the used projection determines the tile grid, Web Mercator zoom levels determine the zoom levels for the styles. |
