Unstable shear module results

When using the shear module for a simple 1D simulation, I am getting unstable results with big undulations in the shear velocity. How can I improve this?

Nick helped me solve some of these issues. The main things that helped:

• Smoothing my bathymetry, e.g. with a 5 cell moving window
• Mirroring the bathymetry. Apparently the fft-based method works best when the bathymetry start and ends at the same elevation.
