Context

Daily (on workdays) published pdf files with data (in tables) on inflow and outflow, as well as water level for Lake Sevan, volumes of the largest reservoirs, and daily outflows for the rivers measured twice a day.

Goal

The main goal is to establish a regular retrieval of newly published monitoring data on site Ministry of Environment Monitoring of Rivers, Lakes, and Water Reservoirs and convert them into a machine-readable format.

Tasks

  1. Extract data and convert it to a machine-readable format (CSV, XLSX is possible)
  2. Develop a script to check data updates on the website http://www.armmonitoring.am in PDF reports and autoload updates for a new period.

Resources

Requirements

  • In the original source, the monitoring data is published in Armenian. It is desirable to translate it into English.
  • Publish scripts for checking updates, downloading data to PDF and converting it to machine-readable format under an free license.
  • Data sets must be published in machine-readable formats (CSV, XLSX).
