With every deployment, we receive more or less (depending on the currently running requests) Sentry issues. With this issue, we should think about a solution to handle (or ignore) errors caused by the deployment of Poseidon or Nomad.

We discussed this issue and concluded on a 4-step solution:

  1. Setup a systemd socket for all incoming connections. Systemd Socket #473
  2. Configure a graceful restart for the systemd socket, Poseidon, and Ansible. Graceful Restart #474
  3. Configure a Blue-Green-Deployment for new Poseidon releases. Blue-Green-Deployment #475
  4. Investigate if a graceful restart is possible for Nomad. Nomad Graceful Restart #476
