Pipeline for 3D to images conversion

I am writing a python function for conversion of user upload 3D(.STEP) file to 2D images prior to sending to LLM.

Would need some advise:

• Should it be added as a filter pipeline?
• Will the 3D file be passed in as part of the message? If so, what will it be passed as?

Any advise/reference to get me started will be appreciated. Thanks.
