Permission to use course content with an open source project #1
Comments
Hi Deepak! Thank you for your kind comment and for getting in touch. We generally welcome reuse of our materials, with correct attribution of course. I'd love to hear more about what you are planning, so I can also run this by the team that worked on this. I am currently the EEA course director that is actively working on maintaining these materials so I can give you pointers on upcoming changes/additions. It would also be nice to add a section on how these materials are being reused. It would be good to discuss some more, please write to training at oeps dot tech. |
Hey Ceci, thanks a lot for your prompt response. We are planning to use the content for BioAmp EXG Pill, current documentation for the same is available on the link below: https://docs.upsidedownlabs.tech/hardware/bioamp/bioamp-exg-pill/index.html
You have covered the basics very well and we were considering modifying the content a bit to use it with BioAmp EXG Pill.
That's very good to know! If you can give pointers on upcoming changes/additions we would also like to support you with content updates via pull requests. Let's start with graphics updates or animations if you are open to exploring that front.
I can send a PR to add this section once we have the content up on our docs site. Coincidently our docs site and your course site use the same backend (sphinx + pydata theme) thus it will be easier for us to manage future updates.
Thanks for sharing, I will send an introductory email soon! |
Hi, first of all, thanks a lot for making this wonderful course to learn about ephys and neuroscience. We at Upside Down Labs work on similar technology, all our hardware, software, and documentation is open-source and can be accessed via our GitHub org page, https://github.com/upsidedownlabs/. Although CC-BY-SA 4.0 license allows us to reuse the course content for our hardware, I would like to receive a formal permission from your team before proceeding. We will provide proper references and attach your license with the content on our documentation site, https://docs.upsidedownlabs.tech/. We will strictly not use the content In case you feel this will create an unfair competitive environment as you have put your heart and soul into making this course content possible.
Looking forward to receive a positive response from your end.
