The extension is obviously available also for Onivim, but it doesn't work. Or at least, I wasn't able to find how to show up it in the sidebar.
Just for consider, maybe for Onivim is this behaviour more suitable – to have a fixed place for these infos. gh needs one more step / auto hovering when cursor is "above" can be very annoying.

Hmm, yes, this is a good point - Vim does have the concept of a preview window too, which is similar to this. I'll split out to a separate issue just so it doesn't fall through the cracks: #3192
In VScode I have ended up with Docs View - Open VSX Registry instead of default hovering.
