haskell implementation shows no status on local-only repo #107

When using the haskell implementation no status is shown unless the repo is pushed to a remote. The python implementation shows a valid status:

smark@neptun ~ % 
smark@neptun ~ % mkdir /tmp/test; cd $_
smark@neptun /tmp/test % git init .
Initialized empty Git repository in /tmp/test/.git/
smark@neptun /tmp/test [master|✔]% # <- git status shown
smark@neptun /tmp/test [master|✔]% export GIT_PROMPT_EXECUTABLE="haskell"
smark@neptun /tmp/test % # <- git status disappeared
