Road to OKD 4.9

OCP 4.9 has been released, here's what we need to do to release OKD 4.9 to stable channel

• Installer changes are merged upstream 🎉. For CRC origin/libvirt-installer is being built

• Branch machine-config-operator in release-4.9-okd

• Branch okd-machine-os in release-4.9

• Create release-controller configuration

• Reconfigure CI to use there branches, create necessary imagestreams

  • cluster-samples-operator
  • cluster-update-keys
  • machine-config-operator
  • origin
  • ovn-kubernetes
  • operator-marketplace

• Update okd-machine-os release-4.9 branch to use stable fedora-coreos-config

• Setup upgrade readiness job - periodic-ci-openshift-release-master-okd-4.9-upgrade-from-okd-4.8-e2e-upgrade-gcp

• Fix found upgrade issues

  • Nodes rebooting twice
  • [sig-network-edge] Application behind service load balancer with PDB is not disrupted

• Release a new stable - https://github.com/openshift/okd/releases/tag/4.9.0-0.okd-2021-11-28-035710

• Add a note that cgroupsv2 is enabled on new installs

• Wait for critical mass of clusters have upgraded to 4.8
