As a non-BV user, I want to convert the BV-preprocessed functional data into the FreeSurfer (https://surfer.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/) template surface to do additional analyses without the BV license.
I believe that, for this, the surface-mapped BV data should first be mapped onto a Freesurfer surface. Since the topologies of two surfaces are not expected to be identical, the mapping should be based on the 3-D coordinates of vertices, preferably in the native space.
Once the surface-to-surface mapping is done, the rest (subject-to-template) can be done in Freesurfer via spherical mapping. But for this, the surface-mapped functional data should be easily exported in a standard format such as NIFTI (https://nifti.nimh.nih.gov/).
I hope there are ways to implement these!
