9.2 Released

Hey everyone! 9.2 is now the official stable release and we've updated the recommended versions of all components in the README.

New Features

• Added notifications to the UI - now things like exports, incidents, ticket activity create notifications in the UI.
• Support for WhatsApp templates with header, footer, button components and media type parameters (image, audio, pdf etc).
• Improved user interface for managing WhatsApp templates - shared across channels and shows where templates are being used.
• Added support for Twilio content templates on Twilio WhatsApp channels.
• Refactored exports to use a single shared model and have a detail page in the UI which provides information about a given export.
• Added fields. prefix to custom field references in contact queries - this removes problems with name conflicts between system fields and user added fields.
• Added new incident type for problems with WhatsApp template syncing.
• Added support for WhatsApp templates on broadcasts.
• Added "read" as a new message status for channel types that support it.
• Added a limit of 1,000,000 contacts on exports to avoid performance problems.
• Added support for user avatars which are displayed in the ticketing UI.
• Added more options for filtering contacts by last activity when doing flow starts.
• Added same contact filtering and query support to broadcasts.
• Improved editing of contact field values in the UI - new widget for location types, better error handling.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed sending a broadcast to a lot of contacts at a node.
• Fixed password change form so user isn't logged out.
• Fixed deleting completed sessions before archiver tries to delete the runs.
• Fixed exports of flow definitions when number of flows and campaigns is greater than 1000.

Security Fixes

• Throttle sending of email verification or password recovery emails to prevent flooding attacks.
• Make expiry of invitation links more aggressive.
• Send email notifications when email or password changed.
• Fix not resetting email verification codes after email changed.

Other Changes

• Minimum required Python version is now 3.11.
• Minimum required Elasticsearch version is now 8.

Deployment Notes

• Existing WhatsApp templates will not work until the refresh task has completed because the format in which they're stored has changed and it requires re-fetching data from the WhatsApp side.
• FCM configuration now requires a service account JSON file rather than just a project ID and token. This is provided via the MAILROOM_ANDROID_CREDENTIALS_FILE environment variable and ANDROID_CREDENTIALS_FILE Django setting for RapidPro.
