Great tech behind nostr. Onboarding needs urgent improvements, the official "Get started" guide is broken in many places. Please let me know if I can help out to make onboarding a smooth process, user-friendly and quick.

https://nostr.com/get-started

  • Recommends Gossip client, upon opening, Apple recommends moving the App in the bin. Turns out the developer decided not to sign it with apple with no further help: arm64 app does not run mikedilger/gossip#398
  • nostr.band gets recommended, but it seems to be broken or in a very early stage of development? The last link in the get started guided "client comparison" just leads to a non-existing page. All of this leads to a bad experience for new users.
  • nostr.directory is recommended, that seems to be in a broken state (Twitter Login) currently.
  • A service called Snort is mentioned, but leads to a wrong page. But even the correct one doesn't work? http://snort.social/new/import

All of this is concerning if users hit a wall in every step of "getting started" with nostr.

The nostr.com website is not an official page, it is just a fan page made by some Nostr supporters. There are many others, such as https://nostr.how, https://getnostr.xyz, https://nostr-resources.com/

Tried to enter Nostr a couple of months ago; impossible. Far far too difficult. "Follow" button does not work. I find it a mess.
But the concept is valuable. I will soon try it a second time....the last time
