Feature Request

Disentangle "Explore models page" by adding tabs for

a) Supported Models
b) Remote models
c) Supported Embedding models
d) Remote embedding models

image

Reason:

Currently when searching for a supported model, it is very likely the first model that will be shown is a remote model from huggingface instead of the officially supported model. One would have to scroll down through the page to find the officially supported models and that's just inefficient and slow. The models are all mixed up.

Other Alternative 1:

Add option to preferences of search bar to differentiate between the four types of models, but make it so that officially supported models are the default.

Other Alternative 2:

Only add two tabs: "Supported models" tab and "Remote models" tab. Add search bars for those and add preference to distinguish between chat models and embedding models in search bar.

@manyoso as response to your comment at #2750 (comment)

Sections would be something like tabs/folders, right?
I would be very careful with the amount of tabs, because there exist an almost infinite amount of distinctions that could be made. I said it already, but I simply would introduce

  • a section for supported LLMs,
  • one for non-supported (huggingface) LLMs
  • and eventually one for supported embedding models
  • and if push comes to shove, also one for unsupported embedding models.

Furthermore, my proposal at #2522 would be to add preferences to the search bar that allows to find things that were added to the models.json.

Obviously, have a search bar in each of the tabs.
