Nearby cities? #96

Venues. It all comes down to venues. Richmond public library seems pretty open to events but I have no contracts. It's kinda why I want to finish #94 so we can approach more places. RPL might be a good idea for May |
... Bah contacts not contracts |
I have a contact, and I think they'd be down to host. I can ping RPL. What are the dependencies before we want to reach out? |
@keywordnew literally the document in #94 |
Richmond Public Library is all booked up for June 8th! I've created an event on meetup, but have not announced. The RSVPs are capped at 35, as the LaunchPad room's capacity is 15 to 20. Cindy is asking if anyone can drop in on Sunday May 19th or 26th to help two of their folks set Node.js up on their machines. I'm away from 15th and won't be able to. |
We've discussed a few times before in-person the idea of hosting NodeSchool events in surrounding cities like Richmond or Surrey. Perhaps we should try to get some movement going on that? I would love to see new groups spin up in the further out areas, for those that have a hard time commuting all the way into Vancouver on a Saturday. 😅
Do we want to try and run something out there ourselves? Recruit others to run them? Do a one-off ourselves and express to attendees that we would like someone to take over there?
