Inspired by zellij, helix and wezterm, this issue focuses on switching from display modes and flags to a customizable config to display and collect what the user wants to.

How does this relate to #238? Curious if we should address this before #238 if it is relevant, not sure I understand what you are getting at here though.

I believe that when I first wrote this, the intention was to get away from using display modes like classic or standard that we have now and move towards users being able to customize how results are displayed. Do they want columns, is there a max line length, do they want the results flattened into one line per result (classic) or layered (standard), etc. That was the intent of this issue: getting rid of display modes and replacing them with a customizable output layout.

Gotcha! That sounds good to me yeah, I'll have to look more into how the existing display modes are because I haven't tried changing them yet 😅.

I'm also curious, though this is pretty out of scope for this issue ahah, about possibly making a TUI view/mode of this. might be cool to have some keybinds to interactively filter out certain types after a scan has been completed, or to navigate to different folders (bookmarked folders?), etc...

No worries! Try out classic mode. I switch between them often.

We've had some discussion on this in the past (#168 and #169), but I've historically stayed away from it since this project's scope is intentionally small due to me being the sole maintainer and it doing the job I needed it to do.

That being said, with more active development, I'm a bit more open to it. Binary size and performance are where I've historically focused first (which is a bit ironic given that I believe gfold needs to be faster), for context. So... maybe!
