Proposed solution:

Check if *.osm.org is among layers
Check if resulting number of tiles is more then N
If both are TRUE, don't allow to click Run and suggest to increase max zoom level (18->17 etc.).

Please help us understand what other services/urls should we check.
Please help us understand what N should be OK.
