Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Cumbersome usability
Describe the solution you'd like
It would be a great feature to be able to open attachments in a separate tab/window for reference without saving them to the local system or NC system first.
At the moment when a user gets a message with an attachment they can click on the file to preview the contents but this opens in a modal that takes over the screen preventing the user from using the mail client. This is cumbersome in salutations where a user only needs to view the attachment for references purposes as the user then has to save the attachment to the local system or NC, before they can open it in a separate window to be able to use the attachment as reference in their replay or forwarded message.
The ability to double clicking a file or the addition of a menu option in the 3 dot menu on the file could open the file in a new tab with the appropriate editor/viewer. This would make it easier to open files needed to be referenced without being saved, in communications, e.g. Commenting on changes need in contract or spreadsheet that is sent as an attachment. The contract/spreed sheet can be open in one tab for reference and the existing tab can be used to write the response.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Saving the file and opening it again.
